Our Administration Officers play a critical role, providing excellent administrative support to Court users, judiciary and management.

Your role

The Jury Central Summoning Bureau (JCSB) is responsible for the summoning of jurors, for the Crown Courts, across England & Wales. The role of a Jury Officer includes, summoning jurors, liaising with Crown Court officers, data entry of both paper and digital work, handling enquiries via email, telephone and webchat.

You will be assigned to a team to carry out all of the duties list above, with the aim that all Crown Courts receive the jurors they require to ensure trials and be heard.

Your skills and experience

• Friendly and approachable manner with excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to multitask, whilst working in a fast-paced environment.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• IT proficient with the ability to learn and adapt to different technologies and software packages.
• Excellent organisational skills.

Further details:

These operational roles are customer facing, requiring successful applicants to be office based to provide HMCTS services to the public. Non-contractual hybrid working may be available and will be determined by the business only when it has been established that delivering the service from home can be done effectively. We cannot facilitate requests for a particular work from home/working in the office schedule.

Standard full time working hours are 37 hours per week. HMCTS welcomes part-time, flexible and job-sharing working patterns, where they meet the demands of the role and business needs and are agreed prior to appointment. All applications for part-time, flexible and job-sharing working patterns will be considered in accordance with the MoJ’s Flexible Working policy. Please note that the role will require a minimum of 22.2 hours across 3 days or 25 hours across 5 days. Non-working days can be a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. This will be discussed on a case-by-case basis and will need to be agreed by the business.

Occasional travel to other courts

For this post, occasional travel to other National Services sites may be required for cover when needed.
