The appointee will be required to devote substantially the whole of his/her time to the duties of the post according to the agreed Job Plan and give these priority at all times.

Each post has a draft job plan which best reflects our assessment of what the final plans will be, based on an initial 10 PA contract. Each job plan consists of regular Direct Clinical Care (DCC) sessions in areas of sub-specialty practice, plus flexible DCC sessions which will be scheduled after agreement with the successful candidates. The post holders will contribute to the general, cross-campus out-of-hours service covering a single campus per on-call. These duties are subject to review from time to time in the light of the changing requirements of the service. If alterations to the described duties are required these will be mutually agreed between the appointee, his/her Consultant colleagues and the Trust.

Any Consultant who is unable, for personal reasons, to work full-time will be eligible to be considered for the post on a part-time basis; if such a person is appointed, modification of the job content will be discussed on a personal basis with the Trust in consultation with Consultant colleagues. Anaesthesia provides a clinical service across both campuses. It is anticipated that the post holder may be reasonably asked to provide clinical sessions on either campus in the future as required by the service.
