Summary

Payroll Manager (9-Month Contract) - iTrent System Expert

Duration: 9 months (with potential for extension)
Working Pattern: Initially on-site during training, then transition to a hybrid working model.
Location: Middlesbrough

Position Summary
As the Payroll Manager, you will oversee all aspects of payroll operations, with a specific emphasis on the iTrent system. Your expertise will be essential in maintaining payroll accuracy, compliance, and efficiency throughout the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

iTrent System Management:

  • Utilise the iTrent payroll software to maintain accurate payroll records and generate reports.
  • Ensure data integrity within the system and troubleshoot any issues promptly.
  • Collaborate with IT and HR teams to optimise system functionality.


Payroll Processing:

  • Process payroll for a diverse workforce, including permanent, temporary, and contract staff.
  • Calculate salaries, bonuses, overtime, and deductions accurately.
  • Handle payroll queries and resolve discrepancies promptly.


Compliance and Reporting:

  • Stay up to date with payroll legislation and ensure adherence to legal requirements.
  • Prepare and submit statutory reports (e.g., RTI, P11D, pension contributions).
  • Assist with year-end processes, including P60s and P45s.


Team Leadership:

  • Supervise a small payroll team, providing guidance and support.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and identify training needs
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.

Process Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities to streamline payroll processes and enhance efficiency.
  • Implement best practices and recommend system enhancements.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

  • Proven experience in a payroll management role within a public sector or large organisation.
  • In-depth knowledge of the iTrent system (including Sys Admin functions).
  • Strong understanding of payroll legislation and compliance.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively.

Desirable:

  • CIPP or equivalent payroll qualification.
  • Experience with temporary and contract payroll.
  • Familiarity with pension administration.
