Summary


We are recruiting for a Equipment and Stores Service Co-Ordinator who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.

You will have responsibility for the local procurement and the management of consumables, equipment and service contracts within the Operating Theatre Department as advised by the Theatre Manager / Service Manager, in conjunction with the procurement team and local supplies department. Supporting the implementation of our new theatre stock management system.

You will be jointly responsible with external teams, e.g. Access/Waiting List Managers, speciality managers for robust communication and effective management of the patient’s surgical pathway.

The post-holder will support the Service Manager and Theatre Manager in the co-ordination and management in aspects of Clinical equipment and supplies to support Planned and unplanned surgical procedures.

To work unsupervised and act independently to manage own workload, referring to Service Manager when necessary.

To line manage and support a team to deliver the service.

To innovate more effective systems to benefit the department and the Trust and improvement projects.

To request new equipment through the discretionary, spend panel.

To support and assist the service manager with Business case and capital bid requests.

To deputise for the Service Manager as required in the remit of stock management.

Co-ordinating, ordering and receipting on loan instruments and implants under supervision of Clinical Leads /Theatre Manager.

Post holder will regularly work unsupervised but with the wider theatre team available for reference at all times.
