Connex Education is working with Pegasus School based in Swadlincote who are recruiting for a SEND Teaching Assistant to work on a full-time basis.
About the school
This is fantastic role for a SEND Teaching Assistant in a small school of only 29 students. focusing on supporting students with autism, speech and language disorders, moderate to severe learning difficulties and associated behavioural difficulties, Prader-Willi syndrome.They are looking for a SEND Teaching Assistant to support students with their educational journey and provide a safe space for all students to reach their full potential.
Assignment Details
This SEND Teaching Assistant role is to start immediately and is an ongoing assignment, Monday to Friday, 8:15 to 4:15PM. There is potential for this to become a temp-to-perm opportunity for the right individual.

Person Specification
- Have experience of supporting pupils with Special Needs, either in a school or a similar setting.
- Be willing to provide personal care.
- Be confident in working with challenging behaviour.
- You must have a current enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to provide a new one.
- You must have a minimum of a passed GCSE in Maths and English or Function Skills Level 2 in Maths and English.
- All applicants must be able to provide references for all work and education for that last two years.
