Summary
We are looking for a Classroom Support Assistant to work in an SEN school in Newcastle upon Tyne.
Role:
You will have worked as a teaching assistant in a school before, or have relevant SEN experience in either healthcare or another sector, which you can transfer over to an education setting.
The school is a specialist provision for autistic children and young people, aged 3 -19 years, with a range of abilities and differences associated with the autism spectrum.
They are looking for enthusiastic, dynamic and resourceful individuals, who will enjoy being effective in supporting students with complex needs and who have an appreciation of the positive attitude required to encourage independence in their students.
Requirements:
- Able to engage with children and enforce positive behaviour
- Worked with children or adults with special needs before
- Able to challenge children when they display negative behaviour
- A qualified teaching assistant or have a transferable skill
