Summary

Job title: Personal Assistant
Location: Tondu, Bridgend
Hours of work: Flexible – Expected 8 hrs per week during School holidays
Rate of pay: £12.50 per hour

A committed and patient Personal Assistant (PA) is required to support a non-verbal 8-year-old boy with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Severe Learning Difficulties and Epilepsy. The role would see a PA assist him with days out and trips to social activities in the community where possible independently or where required with support from one of the parents. He particularly enjoys parks and trampolines.

Individual must have a knowledge of autism and understanding behaviours that may challenge, they must also be capable and willing to undertake training in the use of rescue medication for Epilepsy.

Own transport preferred for ease though applicants without will be considered if local. Individual should be DBS checked and willing to meet with child to check suitability prior to any offer of work.

Main Duties:

● Support and encourage him with activities of interest.
● Support and encourage to try new activities and skills to improve his confidence and abilities.
● Support and encourage to try to improve his language and social skills and abilities.
● Ensure his safety at all times during your working period.
● Support with personal care and nappy changing.
● Local to the area would be beneficial
● To carry out any other reasonable requests that the employer may make from time to time.

Benefits
5.6 weeks holiday per year (pro rata).
Sick pay at SSP rate if earning £120.00 or more per week.
Training provided to support you in your role.
