Job Title: Catering Assistants - Multiple Vacancies

Location: Derbyshire County Council facilities across the County

Overview:
Derbyshire County Council is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our catering team as Catering Assistants. We have multiple vacancies available across the County, offering opportunities to work in various settings including schools, care homes, and community centres. As a Catering Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the delivery of high-quality catering services to our diverse communities.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist in the preparation of food items as per menus and recipes provided.
2. Support kitchen staff in cooking, baking, and food presentation.
3. Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations at all times.
4. Assist in the serving of meals during breakfast, lunch, and dinner services.
5. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen and dining areas.
6. Assist with receiving and storing food deliveries, including checking for quality and quantity.
7. Provide excellent customer service to clients, visitors, and staff.
8. Follow instructions from senior catering staff and management effectively.
9. Collaborate with colleagues to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
10. Adhere to health and safety protocols and procedures.

Qualifications and Skills:
- Previous experience in a catering or food service role is desirable but not essential.
- Basic food hygiene certificate is advantageous.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and cleanliness.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts including mornings, evenings, and weekends.
- A passion for delivering high-quality service to customers.
