Summary

This is an opportunity to work part-time in the NHS, joining a multi-disciplinary team with established clinical psychology provision. This is a part-time, permanent post - the post-holder would be joining another clinical psychologist already in post (working part-time in the same team). The service has good links with other secondary care community services and with acute mental health services, and you would join a close network of clinical psychologists and psychological therapists working across these services in Trafford. We are keen to hear from applicants with experience of working in HBTT or crisis care or from people with other adult mental health experience who would be interested in gaining experience in this area.

Based in a multi-disciplinary Home Based Treatment Team (HBTT) for adults of working age, you will be one of the lead clinicians in the team and will take a lead role in promoting a psychological and trauma-informed perspective on mental health problems and delivering psychological work in relation to this. This will include providing psychological assessments, formulation, and brief intervention work. In addition to direct work with clients and their families/ carers, a core part of the job will be supporting effective team-working and providing supervision, consultation, reflective practice, and training for colleagues within the team and related agencies/ services. We are looking for someone with a keen interest in working with complex and enduring mental health, emotional and relational difficulties, and an understanding fo the social factors in which these occur. An interest in models of psychological provision relevant to this area of work is essential.
