Summary


We are looking for a safeguarding practitioner who lives by our organisational values of Caring, Fair, and Innovative (and has a passion for safeguarding)

We are excited to be able to offer this unique opportunity to work within our aXess Sexual Health safeguarding team.

We are looking for a compassionate practitioner, with a good understanding of safeguarding populations at risk of harm and multi-agency working, who is keen to develop their knowledge and skills in this area of practice.

You should have a good understanding of safeguarding and be able to demonstrate relevant knowledge and skills.You may be a registered nurse who wishes to combine a safeguarding role with a face to face clinical role within sexual health.

The post will include the provision of specialist safeguarding advice, support and supervision on safeguarding matters to front line staff across the aXess Sexual Health footprint. This includes our sites in Liverpool, Knowsley, East Cheshire, Warrington, Halton and Widnes.

The post will also include practice development and prevention of the wider harm's agenda.

In return, we will offer you an insight to working within a specialist sexual health service and support you through safeguarding supervision and training, to support your personal and professional development.

The post holder will contribute in ensuring Liverpool Hospital NHS Foundation Trust meets its commissioning responsibilities for Safeguarding Children and Adults. This includes assurances that staff are aware of their responsibilities around the Safeguarding agenda and that the Trust has positive effective working relationships with partner and external agencies.

Working as part of axess Sexual Health safeguarding team the post holder will work with complex safeguarding issues and will require strong communication skills, confident in working with eternal agencies such as local authorities and the police.

Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust was created on 1 October 2019 following the merger of two adult acute Trusts, Aintree University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals NHS Trust.

To be first point of contact for any safeguarding issues when staff or external partners seek support , advice or guidance.

Review and appropriately refer any allegation / disclosure of abuse and actively participate in all multi agency strategy and professional's meetings, ensuring relevant actions are appropriately implemented and monitored.

Contribute to and participate in any relevant Serious Case Review / Safeguarding Adult Review and Domestic Homicide Review and ensure actions relevant to the Trust are implemented and monitored.

To provide support and advice regarding safeguarding issues in respect of advice and escalate as appropriate through Safeguarding reporting structure.

Effectively deal with complaints, debrief relevant staff and identify improvements following an incident and amend and distribute training accordingly through lessons learnt.

Support the Safeguarding service to provide appropriate assurance to the Trust that all Safeguarding processes are integrated into healthcare delivery.
