I am looking for Learning Support Assistants to work in one of our colleges based in Sutton. We are an outstanding Specialist college offering life-changing learning opportunities to students. Our nine vibrant College centres across London and Surrey have committed, specialist teams delivering a range of programmes to meet the needs of our students.
- Provide support to students with a wide range of needs including profound and multiple learning disabilities, moderate learning difficulties, physical and sensory impairments, mental health and/or emotional difficulties, communication and behavioural difficulties, social and communication disorders e.g. Autistic Spectrum Disorders, and specific medical needs.
- Design and implement individualised programmes to support and empower each student to achieve their aspirations and goals.
- Assist students in developing skills to become more independent members of their community.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff and other professionals to create a supportive learning environment.
- Provide personal care and support as required.
- Minimum of GCSEs in English and Maths.
- Previous experience working with individuals with special educational needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team.
- Relevant experience in a similar role within the education sector.
- Understanding of different learning needs and strategies to support these.
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures.
- Ability to adapt to the changing needs of students.
- Level 2 or 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools.
- First Aid training.
- Team Teach training.
- Part-Time hours, contract-based role.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
