Summary

Graphic Designer/Artworker - MATERNITY COVER

An exciting Graphic Designer/artworker opportunity has become available within Brend Hotels, a very successful, family-run hotel chain that comprises of eleven luxury hotels and several fine dining restaurants across Devon and Cornwall. This is a fixed term contract to cover maternity leave, although there may be the opportunity for work longer term.

Working within our in-house Creative Department based in our head office in Barnstaple, North Devon, you’ll work alongside other creatives on various projects across our Brend Hotel brands.
Reporting to the Creative Director, you’ll be expected to understand and execute briefs handed down to you efficiently and to high spec. You’ll also work closely with our in-house marketing department once the initial brief has been handed over.

Responsibilities and expectations:

Graphic design artwork, layout and image manipulation
A flare for creating inspiring designs that complement our brands
Creating digital images for social media platforms, emailer graphics, animated video content
Designing print material e.g. posters, banners, brochures, mailers, menus, POS
An understanding of print production is required but not essential. This can be taught and is a part of seeing artwork through to the final spec.
Source photography, illustrations, and graphics for individual projects
Size and label imagery
Supporting team members with their design needs
Be able to manage multiple projects with sometimes tight deadlines
To clearly understand briefs given by the Creative Director and the willingness to listen to feedback and use it to advance skill set and understanding of the Brand
Skills and experience required:

Fluent in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
Preferably have up to 2 year’s experience as an Artworker or Graphic Designer
Skills in After Effects and Premiere Pro is ideal but not essential
Excellent eye for layout, composition and typography with attention to detail
Good organisational and communication skills that support the rest of the team
