Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Stores/Warehouse Operative in BB2, Balderstone.

Monday to Thursday 0800-1630, Friday 0730-1500. £11.44 per hour.

We are looking for a Stores/Warehouse operative who will have experience of working in a similar environment and ideally have forklift truck license and some MRO (Maintenance, Repairs and Operations) experience. You will also be computer literate and have experience of lifting and shifting heavy and sometimes bulky items.

You’ll be joining a small and very close-knit team and so will be expected to be adaptable in your approach, as well as your working hours. You’ll also be someone with a little bit of ambition to learn the technical side of the company's work. You will work alongside experienced members of staff to help you train and develop.
Ensuring Searchability: Warehouse operatives must keep meticulous records of what is in the warehouse and where it can be found. Rapid Retrieval: When goods are needed, operatives must find them and get them shipped out with maximum efficiency. Safety: Warehouses can be dangerous places, and workplace safety with heavy equipment and the movement of giant packages is essential. Documentation: For every item moved, shipped or received, a careful record must be kept. Space Optimisation: To make the absolute most of limited space, operatives must find ways to organise for maximum space saving. Warehouse Operative Entry Requirements

These include being able to do sometimes-strenuous work, being methodical, being able to follow instructions closely, and working well with a team.

Skills Needed: Forklift Experience would be ideal but : Training will be given IT Skills: For data entry and inventory. Spatial Thinking: You’ll have a huge advantage in this work if you can visualise ways to organise for maximum efficiency. High-Energy: Being a self-starter with a high level of energy will help you excel in this job. Driving Licence is essential. Warehouse Operative Day-to-Day Responsibilities Store received goods in the appropriate locations within the warehouse Check loads for damaged or missing items upon receipt Move and rearrange stock, either by hand or with heavy lifting equipment Keep careful records of everything that comes in and goes out of the warehouse Clean the space and ensure that goods don’t get damaged Work with a team Load goods onto trucks for moving round
