Summary

Claims Handler - Property Field
Hours: Full Time / 37.5 Hours
Salary: Up to £24,000 depending on experience
Hybrid working available!!

We are currently looking for an individual who has experience as a claims handler - ideally within the property sector to join our well established client in Newcastle under Lyme on a permanent and full time basis.

The job purpose
This role would involve managing and settling a caseload of insurance claims within the property (home-buyer, protection, gadget, household, leisure and property lines) and provide quality customer service at all times.

• To act as the first point of contact with policy holders wishing to make a claim under their designated insurance cover
• Create a claims file; accurately logging comprehensive details of the claim.
• Handle claims queries in relation to policy cover, claims status, policy exclusions and excesses. Escalate more complex queries to management.
• Where appropriate investigate claims to ensure payments are made only where coverage is established.
• Effectively handle all claims from registration to completion.
• Use a variety of communication approaches to build rapport and a positive relationship to help manage the customer predicament and deliver the right outcome.
• Proactively identify opportunities to develop internal systems and processes and,where appropriate, reduce costs whilst ensuring we deliver a quality, customer focused service to our policy holders

Experience Required
- Experience working as a claims handler is desirable, especially within the property sector
- Experience working in an office/customer service sales environment
- Excellent Communication skills
- IT skills
- Positive attitude and willingness to undertake self development activities.
