Summary


We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to join our Quality and Safety team at CHFT.

The post holder, working with the Assistant Director for Quality & Safety and Head of Risk & Compliance will co-ordinate the Trust’s CQC inspections, leading the Trust to deliver high quality care that meets regulatory standards.



They will ensure Trust compliance with regulatory standards, external reviews, inspection response actions and meeting expected CQC care delivery outcomes by working collaboratively with leaders of teams and services.



The post holder will provide senior leadership and coordinate in the development and delivery of the Trust assurance framework (Journey 2 Outstanding) and support leaders to demonstrate compliance against fundamental standards.



They will be responsible for reporting assurance on compliance and progress on key actions to the Trust’s Board via Quality Committee and lead in supporting an aspiration to be judged as outstanding under the CQC inspection framework, encouraging an attitude of striving for continuous improvement.



The Senior CQC Compliance Manager will have line management responsibility for the Compliance Manager and deputise for the Head of Risk and Compliance.

Work with executive, corporate and clinical leads to ensure the Trust is always CQC and External Inspection ready, meeting obligations and standards for regulatory healthcare governance.

To work in close liaison with executives, leaders and clinical teams within the Trust, to ensure that teams are aware of what is required by CQC within all service lines, by providing advice on clinical compliance standards and ensure the reflection of best practice.

To lead and coordinate in the development and delivery of the Trust assurance framework Journey 2 Outstanding Review (J2O). Work with leaders to demonstrate compliance against regulatory standards and the CQC Single Assessment Framework.

To deputise for the Head of Risk and Compliance to be the main point of contact within the organisation for all regulatory bodies including CQC Inspection & Relationship Manager



We employ more than 6,500 staff who deliver compassionate care from our two main hospitals, Calderdale Royal Hospital and Huddersfield Royal Infirmary as well as in community sites, health centres and in patients’ homes. We also are incredibly proud to have almost 150 volunteers here at CHFT.

We provide a range of services including urgent and emergency care; medical; surgical; maternity; gynaecology; critical care; children’s and young people’s services; end of life care and outpatient and diagnostic imaging services.

We provide community health services, including sexual health services in Calderdale from Calderdale Royal and local health centres. These include Todmorden Health Centre and Broad Street Plaza.

We continue to modernise and invest in our health services to build on our strong reputation. Foundation trusts are public leaders in improving quality in health services. To work with the Head of Risk and Compliance to oversee all requests from regulatory bodies and liaise with divisional leads to fulfil.

Co-ordinate any onsite visits from regulatory bodies including planned engagement visits and inspections.

Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the CQC and regulatory inspection regimes in line with CQC revised strategy, researching information on the CQC website, including reports from other Trusts to help colleagues appreciate the structure and content of inspections



Provide senior leadership to enable a detailed knowledge of the CQC inspection regime across the Trust and staff awareness of their role in it

Co-ordinate on-site Regulatory External Inspections, including preparation and responding to the report

Line Management responsibility of the Compliance Manager.



To keep up to date with current health service policy and to undertake continuing professional development through literature; education, conferences, networking and seminars



To provide professional advice to colleagues across services re safe and efficient services for patients.



To work in partnership with divisional leads across the Trust to deliver continuous care for patients.



To implement communication mechanisms that operate effectively within the Quality Directorate so that a culture is promoted where all staff can become involved in influencing and supporting the achievement of the team and Trust priorities.



To support the management and development of all staff within the Quality Directorate, ensuring effective performance review mechanisms and personal development planning systems are in place and monitored regularly.



To co-ordinate and provide support to the directorate management team to ensure adherence to trust policies and involvement in trust wide initiatives.



To deputise for the Head of Risk and Compliance.
