The FP&A Assistant Accountant will support the Group FP&A Manager to deliver management reporting and analysis across the growing
group. Partner with the business to provide feedback and insights into performance through analysis and quality output.
Key responsibilities
* Detailed forecasting over short and medium term
* Weekly cashflow reporting
* Variance analysis to understand the company’s financial performance, with a particular focus on costs
* Analysis of multiple business units operating in different sectors
* Support preparation of monthly reporting packs, ensuring commentary is meaningful
* Support the annual budgeting process
* Contribution to board presentations
* Assist in evaluating and supporting plans for new opportunities across the group
* Ad-hoc projects as required by the Group FP&A Manager
Qualifications & experience
Essential
* Part qualified ACCA/ACA/CIMA
* Relevant experience in finance team as assistant accountant or similar
* Analytical skills including good knowledge of Excel (pivot tables and lookups)
Desirable
* Relevant experience within professional services company and or PE backed business
* Understanding of budgeting, forecasting and cash flows
* Experience in or working alongside an FP&A team
Technical, training & skill levels
* Effective use of IT including Excel, Word, Outlook and good knowledge of a finance system
* Manages own workload and time effectively to meet internal and external deadlines
* Proactive nature to resolve issues and queries
* Attention to detail and problem solving
* Commercially minded and ability to identify areas to add value
* Effective communication and people skills, ability to work collaboratively with all levels of staff and management
* Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
