Summary

Job Title: Personal Injury Claims Handler

Job Overview:
The Personal Injury Claims Handler role involves proactively recording, processing, and settling claims in accordance with company principles and service standards. This position requires managing a portfolio of moderately complex personal injury and third-party motor claims, including associated damage claims. The ideal candidate will possess strong motor claims experience within a bodily injury claims environment and proficiency in handling personal injury claims, including indemnity validation, liability resolution, quantum assessment, and settlement techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

Record, process, and settle claims in accordance with company principles and service standards.
Manage a portfolio of moderately complex personal injury and third-party motor claims, including associated damage claims.
Handle bodily injury claims, psychological trauma, claims within the Personal Injury Claims Portals, Credit Hire Portal, and vulnerable road user claims.
Manage third-party property damage (TPPD), including credit hire claims, within procedural requirements and authority limits.
Identify and champion potential fraudulent claims and take action according to company guidelines.
Pursue all potential recoveries from relevant parties.
Ensure accurate and prompt reservation of files in accordance with reserving philosophy.
Negotiate effectively with customers, suppliers, and third-party representatives.
Process and authorize claim payments as required and within personal authorities.
Experience and Knowledge:

Strong motor claims experience within a bodily injury claims environment.
Experience handling claims within an OIC (Official Injury Claims) Portal or similar (Desirable).
Proficient experience in handling personal injury claims, including indemnity validation, accurate reserve setting, liability resolution, and settlement techniques.
Experience dealing with third-party injury claims and different claimant representatives.
Proficient knowledge of liability assessment and exposure to third-party claims, including credit hire and liability.
Commercial awareness and understanding of regulatory frameworks related to motor claims.
Familiarity with the main principles of English Law as it applies to motor claims and the legal field.
Previous knowledge of FCA requirements (including TCF) and regulatory frameworks related to motor claims.
Understanding of Pre-Action Protocol for Low-Value Personal Injury Claims, Civil Procedure Rules, and the Road Traffic Act (RTA).
