About the role:
Are you interested in becoming a fully qualified Planner? Do you have Level 3 Qualifications (e.g. A Levels/BTEC) and/or relevant work experience and working or willing to work towards obtaining a degree qualification in Town Planning? If so, then come and join a supportive Development Management team at one of the leading and busiest planning authorities in England. This role will work closely with the Development Manager on a digital project which delivers a great new digital tool for our customers.
About you:
A basic working knowledge of the planning system, terminology and the structure and functions of local government is essential for this role, together with an understanding of core policies and procedures related to Planning. You must have good knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Experience of working with database systems would be an advantage. We are looking for someone willing to learn and develop, with good interpersonal skills, a commitment to excellent customer services, a flexible approach to work together with the ability to work to very strict deadlines.
St Albans is a unique English Cathedral City with a colourful history which can be seen in the Roman remains and variety of beautiful architecture, heritage sites and conservation areas. Set within Green Belt, off the M25, A1M and M1 the District includes a cathedral, historic city centre, market town and charming villages. Our refurbished offices are in the city centre near to the Thameslink station (London St Pancras 20 minutes and Luton Parkway 11 minutes), shops and restaurants.
