An exciting opportunity to become the Lead Nurse for the clinical support services at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Outpatient services.

We are seeking a highly motivated, skilled, compassionate, and knowledgeable senior nurse to lead, support and work closely with the clinicians and managers in the Outpatient Departments at both Stanmore and Bolsover Street, the Surgical Admissions & Procedure Unit and the Bed Management & Discharge Team.

The Lead Nurse is required to provide clinical leadership, professional education and training and to contribute to the Clinical Governance and the Research and Development Agenda. They will also work closely with the divisional leadership team.

The ideal candidate will have significant experience of working in the NHS. Candidates should have excellent organisational and communications skills, be able to work under pressure whilst ensuring all deadlines are achieved.

Cross site working is expected with this post.

Are you an experienced Nurse who is currently looking for new opportunities?

NMC registration as an RN is essential as is a teaching and mentoring qualification or relevant experience. You will have a degree and preferably be working towards a MSc. Knowledge of orthopaedic conditions is desirable.

There will be opportunities for development and support, and we are looking for someone who has experience in managing change and is able to adapt and work flexibly depending on the changing needs of services. We would want for someone to role model leadership and have and interest in supporting and developing local leaders in their areas.

You will be expected to work closely in particular, with the lead nurse for Admissions, Bed management and complex discharge team.
