Summary

Learning Support Assistant

Location: Kirklees / Wakefield

Employment Type: Full-time, Long-term

Salary: £85-£100 per day

Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational and developmental needs of students. You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to provide tailored support to children with a range of learning and behavioural needs.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide in classroom support to students in Key Stage 2.
- Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Help students access the curriculum, adapt materials, and use specialized equipment as needed.
- Support students in developing essential life skills and social skills.
- Collaborate effectively with the class teacher, SENCO, and other staff members.
- Monitor and record student progress and behaviour.
- Foster a safe and caring atmosphere for all students.

Requirements:
- Relevant experience working with children in an educational or similar setting.
- A passion for supporting the development and learning of children.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a nurturing demeanour.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Flexibility and adaptability.
- An understanding of Key Stage 2 curriculum and educational needs.
- Relevant qualifications or certifications (desirable but not essential).
- Right to work in the UK essential and overseas police check required if lived overseas in the last 5 years for over 6 months
