Summary

We are a small independent special school, for up to 25 young people aged 8 to 19 years with severe to moderate learning disabilities, autism and associated challenging behaviour.

Role & Responsibilities:

We are looking for an enthusiastic teacher for a small group of individuals whilst leading and motivating a team of support workers and teaching assistants in your class to achieve outstanding outcomes for your learners.

You will work closely alongside other professionals to develop their communication and independence skills, assisting with sensory regulation and building social relationships in order for them to safely access learning in a range of environments including inside their home, their classroom and in the wider community.

Requirements:
- Experience of working with young people who display behaviours of concern that can be physically challenging (advantageous)
- QTS
- Qualified to teach primary age pupils
- Experience of working with a range of students/adults with SEN
- Experience of leading other adults in the classroom
- Proven ability to personalise the curriculum to the needs of those in your class
- Experience of formative and summative assessment for pupils with special needs
- Excellent communication skills
- Resilient, lots of energy and highly motivated
- Knowledge of child protection and health and safety regulations
