Summary

Boarding House Support Assistant

Permanent, Term Time Only, 38.75 hours per week

FTE: £23,893 per annum, Pro rata: £19,303 per annum

Wymondham College seeks to appoint a Boarding House Support Assistant to work in one of our Main School Boarding Houses This is a full-time post working Monday - Friday 0900 - 1715 hours (38.45 hours), during term-time only.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

The personal competencies expected of all College support staff are:

• The ability to communicate clearly and tactfully using appropriate methods and an awareness of the impact of your own communication on others.

• Able to maintain positive relationships with all and able to work as an effective and flexible part of a team; willing to change methods of work and routines to benefit the team.

• Willingness to accept responsibility for your own actions; the ability to prioritise effectively, meet deadlines and accept challenges.

The personal competencies expected of a Student Supervisor are:

• Approachable but authoritative

• Professional, conscientious, and able to act with discretion

• Able to work upon your own initiative in a calm and patient manner

• Self-motivated, efficient and practical

The qualifications and previous experience required for a Boarding House Support Assistant are:

• A good level of literacy and numeracy

• Previous experience in a role working with young people

• Previous experience of dealing with attendance or safeguarding issues would be desirable but is in no way essential.
