We facilitate the development of our psychological professions staff across all areas. The professional group is led by our Director of Therapies and our Chief Psychologist, both Consultant Clinical Psychologists.

We are looking for applications from highly motivated and enthusiastic psychologists and therapists who are committed to delivering patient-focused care and treatment. We are looking for well-rounded and experienced practitioners. Our staff work pro-actively, with confidence, motivation and initiative We find that they are often flexible, robust and resourceful and able to manage the challenges of working in an environment which can be demanding.

We prioritize collaboration within our team and with our community partnerships, so we are hoping to find candidates who have the required communication and interpersonal skills that will allow them to thrive when working within their own team and with external partner organizations, in order to provide a meaningful service to the diverse populations we serve.

The MK Sp CAMHS Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Team (MK Sp CAMHS-CRHTT) is a new provision in Milton Keynes. It is a multi-disciplinary team (MDT) of mental health professionals providing a 24-hour, 7 day per week service to young people experiencing an acute mental health crisis. The team will provide an alternative to acute hospital admission by delivering intensive community-based interventions. Where a hospital admission does occur, the MK Sp CAMHS-CRHTT will assist in shortening the inpatient stay by facilitating early discharge and support back to the community. The role of MK Sp CAMHS-CRHTT is conduct urgent Comprehensive Mental Assessments for service users and determine as required the need for either home treatment or admission. MK Sp CAMHS-CRHTT will robustly review young people who may require an acute admission and consider if they can provide a less restrictive alternative to hospital admission.

The post holder will be expected to lead the development of the psychology provision in the team, working with CAMHS, the general hospital, parents and carers and other stakeholders to ensure the delivery of psychologically informed care within the team. They will be part of the assessment and formulation of young people’s needs, and oversee psychological interventions. In this relatively new role the experienced post holder will have creative freedom to find the most effective ways of meeting best practice guidance.
