An opportunity has arisen for an Outpatient Reception Services Team Leader. The post will be based at Wansbeck General Hospital however, the successful candidate must be prepared to travel to and work at North Tyneside and Hexham General Hospitals on a regular basis.

Applications are invited from candidates who hold good communication and organisational skills in order to meet the varying demands of the role. The successful candidate will assist in the developments and improvements of the service, as well as supporting the department in the development to a digital patient record.

The successful candidate must be flexible and able to adjust to the requirements of the service to cover all sites and where required all shifts, including weekends and Bank Holidays often at short notice.

Candidates will be required to work alongside Team Leaders based at other sites within the Trust, including Seaton Delaval.

Team Leaders are responsible for the daily supervision, co-ordination and training of staff within the department therefore, must have proven knowledge and experience in Health Records practice to ensure all of the required targets are met and that a high quality service is provided.

The successful candidate will be required to work closely with colleagues in the Health Records Department, as well as other wards and departments across the Trust to ensure that service requirements are met at all times. They will also be required to deal with queries from internal and external sources.

We manage three major locality hospitals at North Tyneside, Wansbeck and Hexham, plus a number of smaller community hospitals and clinics from Tynemouth to Berwick on Tweed, in addition to our state-of-the-art Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital, the first of its kind in England. We also care for people in their homes and provide services from facilities in local communities such as health centres. We give people greater choice and control over their care to help them to live independently at home and avoid hospital admission where appropriate. High quality patient care is at the heart of everything we do and we strive to ensure every single patient and service user has an exceptional experience with us. We have one of the most extensive patient experience programmes of any trust in England.

The post will be based at Wansbeck General Hospital however the successful candidate will be required to work at North Tyneside and Hexham General Hospitals on a regular basis.

The successful applicant will work to ensure that they organise their own workload. Be responsible for planning and organising the daily workload to ensure reception areas are covered at all times to provide and efficient reception service and excellent customer care to enhance the patient experience.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate good numeracy and literacy skills, as well as a good knowledge of the General Data Protection Regulations and how these relate to Health Records.
