Summary
Lothian Craft Cars Ltd, based in Mayfield, Dalkeith is looking for a full-time mechanic to join their busy team.
Full time permanent post – minimum of 40hrs per week
Pay starting at £15.00 for the induction period, thereafter possibility of the pay rise as per proven experience
4-day working week, Sundays always off
Location: Mayfield, Dalkeith
Essential skills
• Solid work experience in automotive repair environment- successful candidate will prove excellent understanding of the principles of vehicle mechanics, demonstrate knowledge of engineering technology as well as working knowledge of repair tools and machinery
• The ability to carry out work to high standards and to deadlines- we are looking for person with technical aptitude with good attention to detail and a fast learner
• A proactive and enthusiastic approach leading to quick problem-solving and finding solutions to challenges
• Good communication skills- you must communicate confidently and be ready to ask questions and accurately follow instructions
• The ability to work in a competent and efficient manner on your own or part of a team
• A full driving licences.
• Eligibility to work in the UK
Day-to-day duties
• Performing service checks
•Carrying out servicing, repairs and maintenance tasks to high standards.
• Inspecting vehicle engine and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues accurately, using own experience as well as computer-based diagnostic equipment
• Repairing or replacing broken or defective parts and vehicle accessories to successfully resolve defects.
• Road testing vehicles to test repair work.
• Cleaning and maintaining the work environment to ensure tools and equipment longevity as well as workplace safety
