Summary

Salary: up to £52,000 per annum

Are you a Data Engineer with experience and a desire for new challenges? Do you excel in designing, building, maintaining, and troubleshooting data systems and infrastructure? If this rings true for you, an exciting opportunity awaits at RPS!

In the role of Data Engineer, you will be a key member of our Technology team, with your primary responsibility being the development and maintenance of data pipelines. These pipelines move data from various sources into our centralised data platform. This crucial role will offer you the opportunity to significantly enhance the volume and quality of insights generated and actioned.

Your invaluable contributions will empower data analysts, data scientists, and other PhP stakeholders, enabling them to extract valuable insights from our data.

Requirements:

Strong programming skills in Python.
Experience in building data pipelines, complex ETL, and managing large data migration projects.
Familiarity with AWS (Redshift, Lambda, DynamoDB, S3 etc.).
Good communication skills.
Understanding of common approaches to data analysis, machine learning, and data visualisation.
Familiarity with different data architectures (e.g., Data Lake, Data Mesh, Data Warehouse, streaming, batch processing).
Hands-on experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
Experience with big data concepts for storing and processing large data volumes.
Understanding of information security and data governance.
Proven ability to deliver projects on time, with an emphasis on quality.

The Directorate

This role will work closely with the Head of Data Science, Data Scientists, Data Engineers, Delivery Lead, Data Quality Manager, Lead Architect, Software Developers and Chief Technology Officer.

How we are currently working

RPS supports and works in a hybrid way, which means you will be able to work from home, however, there will be an expectation for collaborative face-to-face working – on average and typically this may be something between 4-8 working days per month at our London Office.
