Joining the hepatology nursing team, you will be a member of the multidisciplinary team (MDT) for the viral hepatitis service within the HCV Organisational Delivery Network (ODN) and hepatology MDT.

You will provide specialist nursing care to patients across the liver specialty. If this is your first role as a Hepatology CNS you will undergo a period of training. You will work alongside experienced practitioners to gain experience in the viral hepatology clinics and as your competence and confidence grows you move in to a more varied position.

An experience practitioner would have the opportunity to work with the exsisting CNS team who are in the process of developing their well established role, encompassing nurse led clinics such stable cirrhosis clinics, decompensating patients clinics, treating hard to reach patients with hepatitis C, HBV, NAFld, the rarer liver disease patients and nurse led paracentesis.

You will need to be passionate about liver disease and have experience of hepatology nursing. Good communication skills are essential. You will be engaging key stakeholders, supporting the nursing team to deliver specialist hepatology nursing across secondary and primary care. Working with others at national level on new nursing projects would be supported.
