Maintenance Assistant
Monday - Sunday (5 days out of 7)
9am -5pm and 12pm - 8pm
£13.24 per hour
We invite you to join a friendly and passionate team based in the heart of Exeter to help make a positive difference to students living away from home.
We are looking for a Maintenance Assistant who has worked in a similar role and environment. If you have great communication and organisation skills, along with the passion to do a great job, we want to hear from you!
Maintenance Assistant responsibilities include:
*General maintenance duties such as unblocking drains, replacing door batteries, basic painting, decorating, handyman tasks.
*Assist with statutory testing including fire alarm testing, fire extinguisher, fire blanket and fire detector checks, water temperature monitoring, shower head cleaning and emergency lighting checks
*Carry out reactive maintenance and provide front line response
*Ensure that the environment is maintained to a high standard
*Assist with the moving of white goods and furniture in a safe manner
*Report any Health and Safety issues relating to the residence ensuring all information is passed to the relevant Manager(s)
Maintenance Assistant attributes:
*Good understanding of the operational procedures and safe working practices of building services and systems
*Good understanding of health and safety, with the ability to always work in a safe manner.
*Prepared to work (with notice) additional hours when the needed, especially during the main student arrival and departure weekends.
