ASD Autism Support - Full Time (32.5 hrs)

We are working in partnership with a fantastic Autism Provision in Barry to support them in finding a new, full-time member of staff to join their team.

The base is a large and diverse setting, working with pupils aged 11 - 16 with a range of additional needs including autism, challenging behaviour, and social & emotional difficulties. Staff working within the base focus on a unique approach to learning, providing adapted lessons, extracurricular activities and intervention support to ensure that all pupils have the opportunity to learn and thrive in the best way for them.

The Specialist Resource Base encourages its students to access the curriculum at their own pace, tailored towards their own specific interests and ability. Your role will involve developing positive relationships with the pupils you support; assisting them in learning in the best way for them; and offering emotional and behavioural support. There will be a range of classroom-based, creative, and outdoor learning involved, including sports, art, music, and even zoology!

This role involves joining a small and experienced team of teaching assistants and senior staff to support pupils across the provision, currently hosting 16 learners. The team are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and compassionate Teaching Assistant with a strong interest in supporting young people with Additional Needs. Previous experience working with vulnerable people, or those with additional needs, would be preferable but is not essential.





Requirements:

- A Level Education (or equivalent)

- Enhanced Child Only DBS

- EWC Registration

- 2 x Professional References
