We are currently recruiting for a General Maintenance Employee (GME) to join the growing Electrical team; it is essential you hold a full UK drivers’ licence to be considered for this position.
The role will require you to carry out routine inspections and checks on essential safety systems and associated ancillary equipment, keeping Gentoo Group compliant for fire and electrical safety.
The role is subject to a basic DBS paid for by Gentoo.

Carry out routine inspections and functional testing as required across all of the Groups relevant stock.
Weekly functional fire alarm testing ensuring the system sounds, operates and signals correctly.
Functional testing of communal automatic opening doors and automatic opening vents / smoke control systems, ensuring they operate correctly.
Ensure all procedures are followed and any defects or maintenance works identified are reported promptly.
Utilise effective information recording systems and complete relevant paperwork in an appropriate manner to the requirements of Gentoo Group to ensure legislative, statutory and organisational timescales and KPI’s are met.
Ensure a positive and inclusive attitude to internal, external customers and stakeholders, whilst always providing a high-quality customer focused service.
What we are looking for:
You will hold a full UK driver licence.
Knowledge and understanding of relevant Health and Safety Legislation is essential.
Experience of basic Electrical or Facilities Maintenance is preferred, but not essential.
It would be preferable if you have experience using a handheld unit (HHU)/mobile device, full training will aslo be given.
You will be able demonstrate experience of providing a customer focused service, using effective communication skills, with good verbal communication, literacy, numeracy and IT skills.
You will also be able to demonstrate the ability to work to targets.
