Morrison Water Services are recruiting for a SHEQ Advisor to champion health, safety, and wellbeing across North London. As part of the operational teams, you will be integral to driving a positive culture for safety. This role will be based in North London with regional travel across the wider Thames Water operational area. This will be to cover staff for holidays and other events.
As the SHEQ Advisor you will advise Project Teams throughout the project lifecycle, during planning and delivery stages, conducting regular site visits and audits. You will be supporting the Site Teams in identifying solutions and options to overcome issues, delivering Toolbox Talks, safety briefings and wellbeing campaigns. You will provide training and advice, encouraging the reporting of near misses through initiative-taking engagement with Operatives and Supervisors. You will also review risk assessments and method statements and verifying temporary works to ensure they are implemented safely.
You will conduct investigations of incidents and accidents, identifying root cause analysis and recommendations to prevent re-occurrence. Reporting incidents in line with Thames Water and parent company minimum requirements and submit reports within agreed timescales. You will also ensure actions from investigations are acted upon and close-out the report in a timely manner.
Assisting in the identification of safety training needs for site-based personnel and bring these to the attention of the Regional Health and Safety Manager. Cooperating with the Health and Safety Executive in connection with their site visits. You will have the opportunity to suggest, communicate and promote initiatives for accident prevention. You will be involved in promoting innovation and different ways of working, as well as monitoring compliance with electronic management systems.
Do you hold a NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate, and an appropriate Construction Skills Card, with Streetworks and utilities experience?
Are you computer literate, with experience of Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook?
Do you have a working knowledge of current UK Health and Safety legislation and best practice?
Can you maintain records and prepare reports, evaluating safety practices, procedures, programmes, attitudes, and awareness? Can you recommend methods of improvement?
Have you got experience of delivering training modules, with a knowledge of various occupational health risk environments?
