Nurture new-borns, get messy with toddlers and prepare pre-schoolers for the big wide world.

We will give you:
Salary: £26,995 to £28,809 per annum (dependent on qualifications and experience)
Hours: 40 hours per week
Signing up bonus, total of £500!

25 days holiday + Bank Holidays FTE, increasing with length of service up to a maximum of 30 days
Option to purchase additional leave (up to 10 days a year)

Your qualifications and experience:
Level 4 childcare qualification or higher
Experience of implementing improvements in an early years setting, including demonstrating best practice, coaching staff, setting objectives, and keeping records
Experience and understanding of child development, behaviour management, and identified groups of children
Good knowledge of matters relating to health and safety
Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding good practice
Paediatric First Aid qualification
Designated Safeguarding Lead (level 3 or above) or willingness to train

We are looking for an extra special Toddler/Pre-School Room Leader to join our friendly, busy team at our YMCA Nursery on Whale Island, at the top of Portsmouth Harbour. Located in the grounds of HMS Excellent naval base, this unique setting provides a never-ending array of experiences. You can expect to be exploring shoreline nature trails one day; then watching helicopters land the next, and end some weeks listening to the Royal Marines Band, and so much more!
