Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Mental Health Research Unit in the Division of Population Health.

We are looking for an experienced mental health researcher to support a new 5 year UKRI- funded programme to improve care and outcomes for people with Borderline Personality Disorder, led from Sheffield. You will support the Hub Director to deliver the programme and work closely with our research partners across England and including lived experience experts. You will be the lead researcher for this programme and will support qualitative and quantitative work packages and create the Hub website. You will coordinate Hub leadership meetings and engagement events and liaise with a wide range of stakeholders (experts by experience, professionals, policy makers, commissioners and the public), using a range of accessible media.

For this role, you will have:

• experience and a commitment to working in inclusive ways with people with lived experience of mental health difficulties
• experience of recruiting people with lived experience of mental health problems and mental health professionals to research studies
• experience of managing and delivering large programmes of research or similar activities, like teaching
• knowledge and experience of qualitative mental health research, including interviewing, data analysis and report writing
• excellent communication, time management and interpersonal skills, and enjoy liaising with a wide range of stakeholders
