We have experienced rapid growth and are now looking for a Driver Operative to join our Logistics department. This is a vital role with the following responsibilities and requirements:-

General Purpose

A Driver is responsible for collecting end of life tyres from our customers on an agreed daily schedule. A driver will also maintain their vehicle and drive in a courteous and professional manner whilst following all road safety and vehicle rules. At all times, interacting with customers in a friendly and professional manner.

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities

Tyre Collections

· Ensure vehicle is empty of tyres prior to leaving site.

· Collect end-of-life tyres from our customers in the Northwest & North Wales area.

· Load and unload tyres on the vehicle adhering to Risk Assessments and Safe Working Procedures.

· Packing the tyres on the vehicle to maximise collections capacity

· Using GPS navigation apps and knowledge of the area to deliver packages to customers on time

· Call customer to confirm collection and number of tyres collecting prior to arrival.

· Interacting with customers in a friendly and professional manner

· Complete the necessary Forms on the driver app with each collection.

· Driving at all times in a courteous and professional manner whilst following all road safety and vehicle rules.

Vehicle Maintenance

· Complete daily vehicle checks and complete vehicle defects form at the beginning of each shift.

· Report all defects to the Logistics Manager.

· Ensure your vehicle is kept in a good, clean condition.

· It is company policy that drivers do not smoke/vape in company / hire vehicles.

· Work in a safe manner and report any issues that may compromise safety

Skills, Qualifications and Experience

· An ability to concentrate ensuring road safety

· Knowledge of the roads and networks in the local area

· A clean driving record and a U.K. Driver’s licence

· Good customer care skills

· Being able to work well independently

· The ability to remain calm under pressure, for instance, when driving in inclement weather conditions

· Basic knowledge of computers, handheld devices and relevant electronic applications

· Good communication skills to follow instructions, work with colleagues and deal with customers

· It's a physical demanding job, therefore high stamina and strength is required to on and off load tyres

Successful candidate may be required to undergo DBS check and referencing.
