Summary

Deputy Regional Operations Director

£70,000 plus 5k car allowance

Excelcare is a privately owned nursing and care home provider established for over 34 years. Our Cambridge Region comprises 10 care homes. We have a superb opportunity for a Deputy Regional Operations Director to join a strong and well-established Team.

Purpose of the role

Operating under the guidance and leadership of the Regional Operations Director (ROD), your role will be to oversee, coordinate, and take the lead in critical aspects of the region's operational activities, namely to guarantee the delivery of high-quality services in line with Excelcare's Care Quality Framework and the CQC Single Assessment Process.

The goal is to improve the quality, safety, and provision of care services, while consistently adhering to the company's values and standards.

About Deputy Regional Operations Director role

· Provide operational support and expertise covering areas to include Care, HR, Lifestyle, Housekeeping, Mealtime experience, Sales & Marketing, Finance, Communications, and Learning & Development.

· Play a lead role in setting the vision and strategic direction for homes to improve quality, safety, and care delivery.

· Assume the role of Clinical Lead for the region and manage team members effectively in accordance with the regional organisational structure.

· Collaborate closely with our Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to ensure excellent customer service, high-quality standards, and effective people management.

· Provision of cover in the absence of the ROD.

· Support nurse development through clinical supervisions and revalidation.

· Lead in cascading lessons learned within the region and staying up-to-date on lessons learned for the organisation.

· Provide operational support to enhance the quality of care, boost operational efficiency, and achieve profitable success.

· Work closely with the Quality Compliance Department, Regional Support Partners and other teams to establish best practices, adhere to company policies and procedures, and achieve 'good' or 'outstanding' ratings with CQC and Local Authorities.

· Attend meetings with the ROD, the Quality and Governance Team, and SLT to plan strategies for continually improving service quality.

· Coach and guide the team on the importance of good governance and evidence-based practices.

· Ensure the effectiveness of clinical and care pathways from pre-assessment to discharge.

· Maintain strong communication channels with regulatory bodies and partner organisations and attend regular Manager's meetings to provide regulatory updates.

· Collaborate with auditors to track trends and develop action plans based on audits, ensuring compliance with CQC standards and Health & Safety regulations.

· Maintain up-to-date knowledge of CQC regulations, legislative requirements, and best practices.

· Lead in maintaining Duty of Candour responsibilities.

· Participate in the regional on-call rota along with regional team members on rotation.

· Monitor, report to coroners, insurers, and refer to external professional bodies as needed.

· Ensure legal and ethical compliance in all care home operations.

· Monitor and support accurate record-keeping, including care planning.

· Strive for excellence in service delivery, create inclusive environments, elevate standards, and foster a commitment to outstanding care in all homes.

About you

· Registered Nurse with active PIN number is essential

· A Management and/or audit qualification in the Health and Social care space would be preferable.

· Demonstrable experience of problem solving and action planning.

· Experience in managing safeguarding concerns.

· Auditing experience.

· Strong knowledge of care and risk assessing.

· More than 5 years clinical and care experience in social care.

· Previous Care Home Service Management including a dementia service

· Experience in Change management.

· Car owner and full driving licence to be able to travel across services as required.

· Able to work independently and lead teams.

· A problem solver

· Clear report writing and objective setting.

· Excellent IT skills.

· Knowledge of electronic systems.

· Clear communicator with excellent organisational skills.

· Ability to liaise with other external professionals such as CQC and contracts departments within local authorities.

· Sound working knowledge of the Health & Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014 and CQC, ICP and H&S knowledge.
