Radiographer (Trainee mammographer) – Band 6 Post In Breast Screening (Central & East London Breast Screening)
The Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust is the host trust for the North London Breast Screening Service (NLBSS), Central and East London Breast Screening Service (CELBSS) and the London Administration Hub

We are currently inviting applications from enthusiastic radiographers who are looking to expand into mammography. We are looking for a full time/part-time trainee mammographer to join our expanding CELBSS team. This dynamic service would a great opportunity for an individual looking to enhance their career development.

There are many challenges to the post. You will be required to work alongside the team delivering the service; maintain a good working relationship with clinical users in a sometimes pressured environment. You will attend academic block and or day release to complete the course. The clinical training will be delivered in North London Breast Screening which is situated in Edgware; travel expenses to the NLBSS will be remunerated.

CELBSS offers the opportunity to work in 7 static sites, screening women from Camden, Islington, City and Hackney, Newham, Tower Hamlets, Waltham Forest. The assessment clinics and some screening will be carried out at St Bartholomew’s Hospital. You will be required to work on all sites on a rotational basis. All sites are equipped with digital equipment.

The post holder must undertake accredited M Level training at a recognised training centre to become competent in screening women for breast cancer by mammography according to National Health Service Breast Screening Programme (NHSBSP) guidelines.
• Be prepared to work cross site at North London Breast Screening Service located in Edgware whilst completing the mammography training course.
• The key task is to train to perform mammography examinations in the static/mobile units and will be supervised/mentored until competent.

All applicants should have valid UK HCPC (Health & Care Professions Council) registration, a BSc in Radiography or equivalent and will be training to achieve the postgraduate qualification (M level) in Mammography.
