Summary


The role of a Band 3 Health Care Assistant in a primary care general practice is crucial in ensuring the smooth running of the practice and providing essential support to healthcare professionals. As a Health Care Assistant, you will work closely with patients, providing them with the care they need and ensuring their comfort and well-being.

Effective communication and teamwork are essential in this role. You will interact with patients, healthcare professionals, and other staff members on a daily basis. Strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and the ability to work well as part of a team are crucial in providing high-quality patient care.

In addition to direct patient care, you will have various administrative responsibilities, such as scheduling appointments, maintaining patient records, and updating databases. Attention to detail and organisational skills are vital in performing these tasks accurately and efficiently.

Knowledge of health and safety protocols is also important to ensure a safe environment for both patients and staff. This includes strict adherence to infection control measures and compliance with relevant policies and procedures.

Phlebotomy, stock room checks, completing general care duties with patients, completing audits, reviewing quality outcome framework (QOF) status, inviting patients to come for reviews, supporting the nursing and the general team.
