The Role
We're looking for a Scheme Manager for Extra care to become an ambassador for Cera and an extension of our family. You will be responsible for providing leadership, support and supervision to the care staff within Cera, ensuring care is provided in accordance with current best practices, adhering to policy and procedures, agreed standards, legislative requirements and relevant regulations under the direction of the Registered Manager.
Communication & Influencing Leadership are important in this role.

- Induct and orientate new employees to the job role and service, adapting your approach according to the individual and their level of experience working within care and the Extra Care setting.

- Ensure Health & Safety policies and procedures are adhered to all times and issues addressed to provide a safe environment.

- Work closely with landlords and housing teams to ensure consistent levels of service and safety are maintained within the scheme. Learning & Reflection Developing Self and Others Changing and Improving

- Ideally possessQF Diploma level 3 in Health and Social Care or willingness to work towards completion.

- Support, coach, mentor, develop and sustain a professional, skilled and motivated team.

- Collaborate with the training team to ensure all care staff receive and maintain up to date relevant training.

- Be flexible and proactive - reacting calmly to changes throughout the day.

- Be an ambassador for Cera, raising our organisations' profile and reputation for providing exceptional care and services within the Extra Care setting.

- Commitment to Quality Care Managing a Quality Service Making Effective Decisions Delivering at Pace

- Strive for quality in everything you do recognising and understanding what quality in care means for people.

- Ensure the safe running of the service which includes effective management and oversight of medicines, care planning & risk assessments, reviews, observations and competency assessments.

- Ensure accurate and legible records are kept.

- Organise and plan supervision and observations for care staff.

- Provide and oversee care staff delivering support/assistance as they accomplish daily tasks - including bathing, eating, dressing, grooming and using the bathroom.

- Ensure medication is dispensed following Cera policies and procedures Communicate any problems, concerns or changes to Service Users' family members as needed.

- Maintain all Care Plans/care records in accordance with Cera policy and audit care records following company policy to ensure compliance.

- Oversee the implementation and adherence of all Cera policies and procedures.

- Support the orientation / on boarding of new starters within the scheme.

- Provide on call escalation support for the contracted Extra Care scheme. Provide assistance and direction to staff in an emergency situation.

- Maintain accurate information regarding your scheme, to support the escalation process and allow others to access key data

Background and Experience:

- Knowledge of rota planning ensuring adequate staff on duty with correct skill mix and fair allocation of off duty/annual leave

- Experience conducting Client Introductory visits

- Ideally hold the RQF Diploma level 3 Health and Social Care

- Experience of working with Service Users who have additional support needs
