Summary

We are currently seeking a Sales Manager for our growing client who based who are based in rural Cambridgeshire and close to Royston. We are seeking an experienced sales professional who will ideally have primary responsibility for the sales performance of the Sensors team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a thriving company and play a pivotal role in developing and implementing sales strategies to promote the companies pioneering products and solutions. This is a full-time permanent position which includes regular travel overseas as necessary.

The role
Working as a key leader within the Sensors team you will help to formulate and implement a divisional strategy that will deliver outstanding profitable growth.

Leading the divisional sales team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional service and support to existing clients, a global network of subsidiaries and distribution partners. You will also be responsible for business development growth and acquiring new customers. Alongside, the need for an ongoing assessment of the network and ensuring that current partners continue to be the right ones.

As a customer facing role you will be visiting partners and customers on a regular basis to gather and feed market intelligence into the business via visit reports. Working closely with key stakeholders to help provide the latest information for technology and product roadmaps in order to further increase market share and financial performance. Influencing relevant individuals to ensure all activities are completed.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Driving sales for the sensors division within the assigned territory
• Develop long lasting relationships with subsidiary networks in USA, China, France, Germany, Italy to drive sales in the right direction
• Take responsibility for direct sales and business development in all other territories
• Take the lead in generating and evaluating business leads, new business opportunities. This applies to direct sales as well as new product/ market development
• Assist in the production and implementation of a high-level divisional strategy
• Keep up to date with competitor and market developments and technologies
• Oversee the delivery of sales budgets including newly developed products, once launched. Increasing gross margin where possible
• Gather useful market intelligence collaboratively with the product management team to enable delivery of disruptive technology and product roadmaps
• Management of an in-house sales team creating a high-performance environment that delivers exceptional service to customers both new and existing
• Creating in-depth sales reports outlining market and competitor activity and using this information to set future business goals. Sharing with the Board and wider senior leadership teams. Where necessary, advising on any variances to the budget, including requests for additional finding to help deliver the company’s targeted growth
• Devising a plan for the aims, objectives and priorities within the remit. Communicating this to the team and colleagues as appropriate
• Managing budgets and making the best use of available resources, including recruitment and training
• Provide clear guidance, instruction advice and coaching to the team. Be accessible and enable staff to input ideas. Making sure you consult them on changes and development. Develop effective teamwork, effective communication and consulting on shared goals
• Responsible for the Sensors Team management and comprehensive use of Hubspot, including managing and monitoring the sales pipeline

The Person
For this important role we are seeking someone with the following skills and attributes

• Proven experience as a high performing sales professional
• Excellent team building and people management skills
• Brilliant communication skills and adept at conversing with a technical audience and the ability to influence at all levels
• Fantastic networking capabilities
• Experience with commercial strategic planning
• Some relevant knowledge within a relevant/ transferable technology setting
• Prior knowledge of process improvement tools and techniques
• Proven problem solving and decision making skills
• Demonstrable experience of delivering and preparing presentations at all levels on a variety of business forums
• Ideally, an understanding of ATEX regulations
• Experience of Industrial Health and Safety gas detection markets and/ or environmental markets
Details
This role is offered on a Full-time, permanent basis and ideally will be based out of the office. However due to the level of travel involved, an agreement could be made to facilitate a hybrid model.
The salary offered is depending on experience and offers commission and benefits .
