Assistant Practitioner

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Wellington Ward at The Royal Cornwall Hospital NHS Trust for a highly motivated Assistant Practitioner.

As an Assistant Practitioner you will be a key player of the team in decision making for the on-going treatment and care. We are seeking to appoint highly motivated and enthusiastic people that want to ensure the highest of quality in nursing care whilst respecting patient’s privacy and dignity.

Successful applicants will have excellent communication skills and have a good knowledge and understanding of clinical standards. You must be able to work on your own initiative and also be an excellent team player whilst being prepared to develop as an individual and support others to develop.

To work as a skilled member of the nursing team.

To provide a high standard of compassionate patient centred care.

To lead and supervise the work of other qualified and unqualified staff within the team

To communicate effectively at all levels within the multi-disciplinary team.

To be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of a cohort of patients, with the supervision and support of other Registered nursing staff.

You must be able to work independently, as well as be able to work within a team. You will be expected to record vital signs, venepuncture, ECG's, wound care, spirometry, health promotion and much more.

This is a full-time position for 37.5 hours per week, working a mixture of long days, nights and weekends.
