There is an existing opportunity arisen for an enthusiastic and experienced clinician to work in the Integrated Care Community care group as a Team Lead for the bay wide Community Specialist Bladder and Bowel team.

UHMB's Bladder and Bowel team is based across the Morecambe bay footprint. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a team of passionate and dynamic clinicians; influence proactive care within the community, deliver transformational change and work closely with different services and providers to make a positive difference to the patients across Morecambe bay.

The Community Bladder and Bowel (continence) service provides a high-quality assessment, diagnosis, advice, and intervention for adults across through collaborative working with patients, partner organisations and professionals.

As team lead you will take the lead clinical role, promote good practice and influence service development to improve patient care. You will be accountable for the performance, quality and clinical effectiveness of the teams. There will also be an opportunity to be involved in work with other providers organisations to help support the transformational and service development of the service.

To manage the overall day to day operational workload for the team, ensuring timely appraisals, mandatory training compliance, sickness management and all relating human resource activity with the support of the HR team.

To work in an innovative way to manage to ongoing waiting lists and management of clinics to allocate and manage workload accordingly in line with priority and patients who have waited the longest.

To support the staff to manage complex caseload of patients, who have diverse complexities of need utilising all appropriate resources effectively. This involves prioritising, assessing, co-ordinating, delivering and reviewing whole programmes of care delivered.

To contribute to service development and integration with health and social care providers.

To provide clinical leadership, and clinical expertise as lead in clinical area which includes the co ordination of education and teaching across the care group and wider organisation.

To provide professional support, skills, mentoring and networks to the ICCG Staff.

We operate from three main hospitals - Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community health care premises including GP Practices, Millom Hospital and GP Practice, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.

FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.

WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.

All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.

Our community services for adults are provided in people’s homes, community centres, clinics, GP Practices, community hospitals and our main hospitals. Our aim is to work with people to help them remain independent, improve their health and manage their conditions through high quality care, advice and support.
