Summary

University Hospitals of Leicester offers a supportive and stimulating working environment. Our preceptorship and retention package, provides excellent support for new team members.

Our Community Midwifery Service is expanding and covers Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. We are looking for Newly Qualified, plus experienced Band 5 and Band 6 Midwives to join our team.

We are able to offer Monday to Sunday day time shifts, on a part time and full time basis.

We promote a flexible working policy, and facilitate individualised working patterns. This includes long and short shifts and patterns to suit your work life balance

The main duties of the post are to work in geographical Community Maternity teams, providing antenatal and postnatal care to new families. This includes working from GP surgeries, community centres and community hospitals, running antenatal and postnatal clinics, as well as visiting new families, in their own homes.

You will build relationships with your caseload and support safe childbearing outcomes, informed choice and personalised care plans. To achieve this, you will work as part of a MDT team, including GPs, specialist midwives, the home birth team, maternity support workers, and admin staff, as well as clinicians in the obstetric units and standalone birth centre.

We are looking for caring and passionate midwives, who can work independently as well as part of a team. We pride ourselves on excellent communication and positive team working culture, and so would welcome applications from anyone wishing to continue this!

Leicester maternity services provide safe, high quality care and encourage innovation and development from all staff. We pride ourselves on staff engagement and actively encourage a safe working environment where staff feel safe to speak up and raise concerns.

Our new strategy, developed with the support and feedback of colleagues, patients, and partners, is our compass for the next seven years (2023-2030).

We have four primary goals:
• high-quality care for all,
• being a great place to work,
• partnerships for impact, and
• research and education excellence

And we will embed health equality in all we do - taking active steps to reduce the avoidable differences in healthcare that some people face, working in partnership with communities.

Our strategy is underpinned by new values and we will work to ensure they are an everyday reality for all:
• we are compassionate,
• we are proud,
• we are inclusive, and
• we are one team

This is an exciting moment as we look to the future with clarity on what we already do well and where we need to focus our energies to make an even bigger difference for the people we serve.
