Summary
Alan Baybutt & Sons are looking for a Production Manager to take responsibility for their Plant Raising Nursery sites. The role will involve managing the production of salad plants and indoor protected crops to the highest quality as well as the maintenance and tidiness of the sites.
Responsibilities:
Producing high quality plants and crops to the planned programmes.
Co-ordinating tray loading and unloading with the planting manager.
Planning the workload and staff requirements
Monitoring the crops for nutrition, pests & disease.
Crop irrigation
Managing the nursery team while minimising production & labour costs.
Planning & organising maintenance across the sites
Keeping the sites tidy at all times.
Ensuring Health & Safety across the sites.
This is a hands-on role and would be ideal for someone with a passion for growing and a willingness to get “stuck in”, with opportunities for progression within the business.
