Summary


We are looking for an enthusiastic administrator to join our clinical support worker admin team supporting the Dietitians in the Dietetic Department.

This is a part time role of 22.5 hours. We are looking to spread the hours across 4 or 5 days and would be open to the successful candidates preference on the spread of hours as long as they are within the core hours of 8.30am till 4.30pm. We would be happy to consider school hours.

Be the first point of contact for patients to the department.

Ensure urgent patient requests are action in a timely manner and the relevant Dietitian is aware.

Support Dietitians with their patient preparation for clinics, patient groups, domiciliary visits and telephone reviews.

Action Dietitian requests following their patient appointments for example sending patients relevant diet sheets/ information or tube replacement parts.

Undertaking of general administrative duties to support the clinical teams.

You will be primarily based at Brierfield Health Centre supporting the community, weight management, diabetes and renal Dietitians.

You will at times need to work from other Dietetic locations including Royal Blackburn Hospital and other localities across East Lancashire to provide cover for our other Dietetic admin teams.

The Dietetic Department has nearly 90 staff and is based across East Lancashire and covers a wide range of specialties. It is well respected in the region and is know for its development and innovation.

The post holder would be supported by a Team administrator and an Admin Team lead as well as from fellow peer administrators in the team and from across the Dietetic Department.

Suitable candidates should have :

Good IT skills as the majority of the role is IT based.

Good Communications skills including helpful telephone manner and good problem solving skills. The majority of the role requires interaction with patients to help solve their queries.

Ability to perform a range of administrative duties including accurately documenting in patient records or collating information from patient systems.

Organisational and time management skills to ensure tasks are prioritised and urgent patient queries are actioned in a timely manner.

Good interpersonal skills - the role requires supporting the busy clinical teams.

The department uses patient systems such as EMIS, Cerner and ICE so experience working with these system would be desirable
