Summary

Norway Lodge nursing home is set in the residential area of Prenton on the Wirral, it is a family run 29-bed care home specialising in nursing and residential care. We have excellent working relationships with local professionals (GPs, Nurses, and Commissioners etc.) and we have a strong reputation for providing good quality care to our residents evidenced by our continuing “Good” CQC rating.
We endeavour to promote individual person-centred care in a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere, encouraging independence, choice and dignity throughout.
Deanna Holmes is the Registered Manager, and together with a strong team of experienced and trained staff, work throughout the day and night to ensure that our residents’ individual care needs are met with dignity and passion and that the care home feels like a ‘home from home’.
She is supported with similar professionally minded staff. This allows us to cater for individual needs and the preferences of our residents, including specific cultural and religious dietary requirements.
Norway Lodge has good transport links with various bus routes all stopping within five minutes’ walk from the care home.
About the role –
As an HCA working nights you will report directly to the Nurse in charge of your shift, you will be provided with suitable free induction training and support to fulfil your role. There will be the opportunity for progression. Ultimately success in the role is knowing that your residents are well cared for and within a safe environment as well as your own professional development.
Core Duties –
Assisting residents with their night-time personal care and records.
Assisting with meals/drinks to support our residents' overall nutrition
Engaging with residents who wish to take part in ongoing recreational activities
Supporting the senior carers / Nursing staff and Home Manager with your own professional development
Skills and experience –
Health and social care NVQ level 2 required. A passion for the role, the industry and understand the importance of supporting our most vulnerable client group. We believe that to fulfil the role of a healthcare assistant you require a caring and empathetic skill set and a desire to make a difference.
Benefits – In addition, you can enrol in one of our professional development programmes – care certificate, NVQ level 3. There are progression opportunities to support you from Carer to Senior carer all the way to RGN. We have experience of supporting care staff to become RGN’s.

Working week –
Shifts are set at 12 hour shifts 8pm to 8am. As we provide 24 hour care we need individuals to be flexible and work some weekends.
