- Basic Salary: £26,500 basic – OTE £30,000
- Mon - Fri 08:00 - 17:00, 1 in 2 Saturday mornings 08:30 - 12:30

Our client, a Franchised Main Car Dealer is currently looking to hire a detail-oriented Vehicle Preparation Technician / PDI Technician to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring all new and used vehicles are prepared to the highest standard, ready for customer delivery.

Our client has a strong reputation within the automotive trade, with over 420 staff employed across Hampshire, West Sussex & Surrey. They offer a steady, well-paid employment with a pleasant atmosphere alongside continuous training and development.

Due to expansion, they are seeking an experience PDI Technicians / Preparation Technicians to join their successful team based in Southampton, Hampshire.

This is a fantastic opportunity for vehicle technicians with entry level qualifications to gain some main dealer experience and begin their automotive career and skills development.

We have worked with this client for several years; they provide a great place to work with excellent training and guidance to newly qualified Technicians, alongside progression opportunities.

Duties of a Vehicle Preparation Technician with our Client

- Complete pre-delivery inspections (PDIs) on new and used vehicles in accordance with manufacturer standards and guidelines
- Carry out quality control checks to ensure all work meets safety and quality standards
- Prepare and maintain vehicles to showroom condition, including washing, polishing, and waxing
- Fit accessories and perform any necessary modifications or repairs to vehicles
- Liaise with sales and service departments to ensure timely delivery of vehicles
- Maintain an accurate and up-to-date record of all work carried out on each vehicle
- Always adhere to health and safety regulations
- Keep up to date with the latest technologies, training and trends in automotive repair and maintenance

What our client expects of their Vehicle Preparation Technician:

- Ideally NVQ Level 2, or Level 3 Qualified within Automotive Maintenance and repair or equivalent
- Previous experience in a similar role, ideally within a franchised dealership environment
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work to tight deadlines
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Good mechanical knowledge and experience with diagnostic equipment and tools
- A full and valid driving license
- Ability to work well as part of a team
- Full valid UK driving licence
