Our client, a family run business based in Hampshire are seeking a Vehicle Salvage Manager, to assist in the sales and delivery of Recycled vehicle parts to their network of accident repair network and vehicle dealerships across the UK.
We are seeking a dynamic individual with proven people management skills to lead our salvage department and drive positive change. If you have a strong background in vehicle salvage, excellent leadership capabilities, and a passion for achieving results, this could be the perfect role for you.
Our client has experienced strong growth from humble beginnings in the 1940’s to becoming a Medium sized business with a head count of over 130 staff members. Our client is seeing a strong demand for their product and have grown exponentially over the last 5 years, with plans to scale up even further!
We are seeking individuals with strong vehicle knowledge, excellent telephone manner and Passionate about delivering a great service.
This role is an opportunity to join one the fastest growing sub-sectors within the automotive trade, with the current supply issues with vehicle parts and the growing green agenda to ensure the automotive production process becomes a circular economy, this job provides a great platform to be at the forefront of this industry.

Duties of a Vehicle Salvage Manager with our Company:
- Lead and manage the salvage department, overseeing a team of supervisors, a junior buyer, and customer service representatives
- Utilise extensive knowledge of cars and values to challenge insurance companies regarding vehicle categorisation (Cat A, B, S, or N)
- Run the auction site, ensuring compliance with Service Lead Agreements
- Ensure margins are met and negotiate effectively with insurance businesses and dealers
- Provide strong leadership to a team that includes supervisors, a junior buyer, and customer service representatives
- Drive positive change in a department with historical resistance to change
- Oversee the salvage market, utilising online auctions every Wednesday and Friday

- Proven people management skills with a track record of leadership
- Extensive knowledge of cars and car values, either from a Vehicle Dealership network or ATF
- Ability to challenge insurance companies on write off categorisation
- Ideally experience with ATF (Authorised Treatment Facility) and the auction route
- Strong understanding of the salvage market and online auctions
- Ability to lead a team of supervisors, a junior buyer, and customer service representatives
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Proactive approach to driving positive change
