Our client is looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to join their First Opinion team at a hospital in Northampton. Our client has 3 branches in the local area which have recently enjoyed full refurbishment to create a truly modern working environment. The hospital is well-equipped with internal lab alongside in-house endoscopy and on-site CT (as well digital radiography, doppler ultrasonography, purpose-built dental suite, and mobile MRI service).

You will be working closely alongside the referral Veterinary Surgeons, who are certificate holders in a variety of small animal disciplines. You will rarely have to refer a case externally, and you can follow investigations that will be happening in the same building. This is a perfect environment for learning new skills and achieving advanced qualifications. They also have a great team of 13 Veterinary Surgeons (majority of them are certificate holders), a large team of Registered Veterinary Nurses, Student Veterinary Nurses, Kennel Assistants, and a Lab Technician.

This position requires a reliable, responsible, and flexible individual. You must be RCVS registered, you will be confident consulting, performing first opinion surgical procedures, and providing dedicated inpatient care. High standards of client and patient care are essential, as well as the ability to work well in a team.

The hospital is situated in a large, picturesque village in West Northamptonshire, offering a wide range of sporting, recreational and cultural activities, with great links to London and Birmingham.

The Rota:
• Full time or part time position
• Either 4 x 10-hour shifts, or 5 x 8-hour shifts are available
• Saturday shifts on a rota (with time off in lieu)
• No OOH or on call
