Summary


Following the current post-holder moving to a new position, we have an opportunity for an organised, motivated and team-focused graduate psychologist to join our team of psychologists in West Essex. This post will be based with the Adult Specialist Mental Health Service at Latton Bush Centre, Southern Way, Harlow, CM18 7BL. This is an interesting and diverse role which will provide you with a broad range of experience and good learning opportunities. Following a successful application to start clinical training, we also have an Assistant Psychologist role available to join our Adult Specialist Mental Health Service in Loughton from September 2024.

The role of the Assistant Psychologist is to assist with all parts of the psychology service, including individual and group assessments and treatment, some administrative and organisational tasks, and with audit and service evaluation.

Our Adult Community Psychology team provide specialist assessments, individual and group-based psychological interventions for service users aged from 18 upwards who present with moderate to severe mental health problems . Psychologists in the team also provide trauma-informed consultation, training and supervision to their multi-disciplinary colleagues, and you will provide support in all aspects of this when necessary. The psychologists in the teams have specialist skills and training including CBT, CAT and EMDR, and are very supportive of on-going training and development for Assistant Psychologists.

Our EPUT NHS staff bank is an entity managed by the trust that hires clinical and non-clinical healthcare professionals to take on shifts at our trust hospitals and community settings. Here at EPUT we maintain our own bank of specialist staff to ensure that we are able offer safe and effective care at all times.

To support the work of the psychologists and other professionals working in the Specialist Adult Mental Health Team, including the delivery of psychoeducational groups, and individual Cognitive Behavioural Therapy informed work. You will have opportunities to support the psychological care of clients following a pathway of care from assessment to psychological interventions under the supervision of a qualified/senior professional psychologist. This will be in accordance with a plan agreed with the qualified/senior psychologist and within the overall framework of the Trust’s policies and procedures. This will be through both direct and indirect work.

You will work collaboratively with key partner organisations, service users, carers, clinicians and other practitioners within the multi-disciplinary team in delivering services. In delivering your duties you are expected to display behaviours that are aligned with the Trust values and in accordance with the NHS Constitution at all times.
