Are you an effective and engaging communicator?

If so, we would love to hear from you!

This is a fantastic opportunity to work autonomously in an extremely varied and exciting role where you will be trusted to utilise your creativity and passion for communications and engagement.

The Communication and Engagement Manager (CEM) provides a professional communications service, acting as a single point of contact for all internal communication and engagement activities within the home directorate. As CEM, you’ll be encouraged to proactively engage with a wide range of staff at all levels and build networks across the agency. You will be part of a network of CEMs within the agency, and you will grow relationships, share successes, challenges, and ideas. You will gain an excellent understanding of DVLA at an organisational level.

Your responsibilities will include but will not be limited to:

  • Providing insight to the director and senior management team to assist and support them in delivering effective communications (in terms of content, timing and approach).
  • Capturing data and feedback on communications initiatives to ensure they’re understood, evaluated and used to identify and inform future improvements.
  • Maximising the use of new and innovative communications channels and approaches to inspire and engage directorate audience, working with the corporate communications team to share best practice and assure standards.
  • Representing the directorate as engagement champion, facilitating directorate events and away-days, supporting the delivery of staff engagement initiatives and co-ordinating related activities.
